Velvet Cave Valkenburg

(Netherlands, the - Limburg - Valkenburg)

In Valkenburg you will find a number of dugout caves which are open to the public and which can be visited in guided tours; amongst them is the ‘Fluweelengrot’.

During World War Two this cave has been used as a shelter for the public but also by American Troops. Many of these soldiers have inscribed their names in this sandstone cave.
