This memorial commemorates three Dutch soldiers who were killed on 14 May 1940.

The memorial was erected in 1941. Later on a plate with the names of the inhabitants of Schelluinen who were killed in the Second World War, was placed behind the memorial. It is now the war memorial of Schelluinen.
