Photo #1 Stolpersteine Aachen

These memorial-stones (so-called Stolpersteine) lie in front of the entrance of restaurant La Pampa, at the Heinrichsallee. These stones were placed on 16 January 2008, together with some other stones.

The small copper plaques in the pavement mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death. One of the new stones in Aachen is the first one for an euthanasia-victim.

In many other German cities the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques, and their number is still counting.
