Arlington National Cemetery

The National Cemeteries in the U.S.A. are used for war graves, graves of U.S. military personnel, veterans and their spouses but not exclusively so. There are also special state veteran cemeteries.

Arlington National Cemetery contains war graves of the Second World War. It is also used to bury veterans of the Second World War and other wars. In 2008, there were in total more than 300,000 graves on this cemetery.

Many great names of the Second World War are buried on Arlington National Cemetery. Amongst them are Omar Nelson Bradley, Frank J. Fletcher, William "Bull" Halsey, Audie Murphy, Robert F. Sink and Jonathan Mayhew Wainwright IV.
