Wilhelm Beck is a distant relative of mine, I am researching him and found this picture of the memorials.

My wife and I are from Canada. We visited the La Cambe cemetery in October 2008. Despite knowing that it is a memorial to an occupying army, one cannot help being deeply moved by these quiet grounds, where so many markers read simply, "Ein Deutschen Soldaten". At the gate, there is an inscription which says that not all soldiers choose the cause for which they fight and die. This cemetery is a beautiful memorial to the fact that death knows neither war nor enemy. I am very grateful to France for permitting a place on her soil that recognizes the sacrifice of the soldiers of Germany.
