Memorial POW-camp Cabanatuan

(Philippines - Cabanatuan City)

On this location was the Japanese POW-camp Cabanatuan, for American as well as Filipino POW's.

This memorial was erected by survivors of the camp and the Bataan Death March, to honor the dead. During the march, 600-650 American soldiers and 5000-10,000 Filipinos died.

Since 1989 the memorial is maintained by the American Battle Monuments Commission.
