Stumbling Stone Kalsdonkseweg 89
(Netherlands, the - North Brabant - Roosendaal)
This memorial-stone (so-called Stolperstein) is located in front of the former hospital Charitas on Kalsdonkseweg 89, it commemorates Elly Bertha Monasch who was murdered in concentration camp Auschwitz on December 15th 1942.
Elly spent three months in hospital Charitas, after this she was deported from Westerbork to Auschwitz.
The small copper plaques in the pavement mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.
In many other (German) cities the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques, and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
