Gdynia Museum Axel
(Netherlands, the - Zeeland - Axel (Terneuzen))
A private museum of Mario, his wife Ann, father and brother Ronald
Arno Maas, where they can, after an appointment has exercised extensive information. From its sixth or seventh year is already a Mario Maas collectors of everything connected with the Second World War to make and the collection is impressive. It is certainly worth a visit because it is a private museum.
Not suitable for wheelchairs, but people who are still on a staircase can walk would be able to visit.
The museum is located at an appropriate place, namely in the heart of the area where in September 1944 a fierce battle has been fought. The decision came when the Poles conquered a bridge to the Third Shorten, this bridge was the Gdynia bridge.
The name to where the museum is named.
It is a miracle that the barn where the museum is housed the
war has survived. All the other barns of this type were destroyed by the
Allies.
Admission is free, but however a donation is appreciated

Photo 3. The baby with a protective helmet. This was given by the British
Ministry of Home Affairs to all families with children under two years. Young children could n.l. not through the filters of normal breathing masks. Filtered air was pumped into the helmet with bellows on the side.

note the special emblem on the helmet for these troops in French
army.

- Het museum is ingericht en gebouwd (!) door de eigenaar zelf . Wat er uitspringt is o.a. het propaganda- materiaal uit de Oorlog . Ook heeft het zeer zeldzaam archief stukken van de vorig jaar overleden P. van de Bosse uit Axel. Het museum wordt nu gewaardeerd door de Gemeente en de Provincie Zeeland!
