The Kaiser-Wilhelm- Gedächtniskirche (Memorial Church) was destroyed by a bombardment in the Second World War. The ruins of the tower has been left to commemorate the bombardments on Berlin and as a war memorial.
Inside the tower the "Nail Cross of Coventry" is kept in memory of the German bombing of this English city.
